Continued EDS Response in Tennessee

[Nashville, TN] (December 12, 2023) – The Salvation Army continues service to Madison and Hendersonville areas that sustained damage and/or remain without power.

“While many areas have had power restored, we are still serving in those areas that remain dark. We are honored to be able to spread a bit of light and hope into that darkness for our neighbors,” said Captain Philip Canning, Incident Commander for The Salvation Army in Nashville.

“We are also excited for our Rock the Red Kettle event at the Nashville Predators this evening. Usually, this annual event raises funds for our year-round programs, but tonight, all funds raised in person and online will be put towards our immediate response here in Middle Tennessee and, looking ahead, to long-term recovery assistance that will be needed over the upcoming months by survivors,” Captain Canning continued.

Breakfast and Mid-Day Meal Service is planned in the following areas:

Madison – 2 Units:
One will be stationary at the corner of Nesbit and Heritage Place. The second will be roaming in the areas hit hard by the storm.

Hendersonville – 1 Unit:
Meal Service will happen in the Clearview Circle and Hunters Trail Area and then unit will roam other areas struck by the storm.

To date The Salvation Army has provided:

485 Meals
338 Snacks
802 Drinks
57 Emotional/Spiritual Connections
101 Hygiene kits, blankets, etc.
