Disaster Resource Centers Open in Iowa

Salvation Army Disaster Resource Centers (DRC) providing flood-relief items and additional support have been opened in the Sioux City and Council Bluffs corps.

Staffed by teams of Salvation Army officers and employees, the DCRs serve as distribution centers where people in need can pick up flood-relief items, such as bottled water, mops, buckets, shovels, rakes, bleach, work gloves and household cleaning supplies. A food pantry and financial assistance also are available at the DRCs.

The first DRC to open in response to the current multi-state flooding is in Omaha, Neb.
