Don Dewar, a volunteer with Emergency Disaster Services, including the Salvation Army Team Emergency Radio Network (SATERN), recently received the bronze-level Presidential Volunteer Service Award.

The award, established by the President’s Council on Service and Civil Participation, recognizes the importance of volunteer work within our nation’s fiber.

Don, who has volunteered with The Salvation Army for three years, completed 105 hours of volunteer work in 2022. He said he was excited to learn he was receiving the award. “Awards are nice— but I really get my reward from the volunteer work I do,” he said.
