The Salvation Army is in contact with Emergency management agencies as a storm system hovers over Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi today, just hours after a previous system injured dozens and damaged areas in Louisiana on Tuesday.

Salvation Army units from Monroe and Shreveport, LA are responding to the local need by distributing drinks, snacks, and coffee in affected areas. This response may shift or expand as damage is further assessed and the storms move further into the division.

William Trueblood, the Divisional Disaster Director for Alabama, Louisiana, and Mississippi, stated, “Our divisional disaster team is monitoring the situation for worsening conditions and posturing ourselves and the rest of the division for a potential response, if necessary.”
