“The Salvation Army has an established presence on Kauai, Oahu, Maui, Molokai, and Hawaii, and we will be responding in our island communities as needs arise and initial assessments are completed,” said Victor Leonardi, Divisional Director of Emergency Services & Safety for The Salvation Army Hawaiian & Pacific Islands Division. “Many in our communities also have been asking us how they can help those in need. During emergencies, the best way to help is to provide monetary donations which allows the delivery of the exact relief supplies a community needs. Plus, The Salvation Army uses one-hundred percent of all donations designated ‘disaster relief’ in support of disaster operations.”
The Salvation Army is part of a team of agencies providing assistance during EDS events and is a member of the State of Hawaii Voluntary Organizations Active in Disaster (VOAD).
