- I am enjoying my new reading plan for the year that takes me through the whole Bible showing how everything points to Jesus. I am using “The 49-Week Challenge” for 2020.
- I started a new online Bible study called “Rhythms of Renewal” by Rebekah Lyons. I’m looking forward to this as I think I need to have more rhythms in my life that focus on rest, renewal, connect, and creating.
- I am struggling to eat the way I know I should and know that this is part of my spiritual journey. I would like to be able to be consistent with the Daniel Plan and fasting.
- I am excited about my new focus on physical activity and look at this as part of my spiritual journey. I’m trying to look at this as a “praise” experience in using more music and videos in the space we have created in our home gym area.
- I am going to participate with a small group in sharing my goals for 2020 and think that this will help with accountability.
4 things that have influenced your spiritual development over the years:
- Relationships – my mom prayed for me, my brother took me to church, corps officers taught Sunday School, corps cadets, and took me to camps/divisional events which gave me spiritual opportunities/Relationships have also kept me accountable
- My commitment to consistent quiet time since I was a college student, including journaling, devotional reading, and good Christian books
- Bible Study Fellowship laid a foundation and helped me make Bible study a priority
- Struggles and challenges have drawn me closer to God and kept me dependent on Him
3 things that keep your spiritual life on track:
- Consistent quiet time which includes a Bible reading plan each year and different Bible studies
- Using the pattern of ACTS in my prayers – especially taking the time to confess and reflect on my day
- Commitment to continual learning through good Christian books – knowing I haven’t arrived
2 good news things you see happening in the Army right now:
- Commitment to spiritual development and pastoral care
- Focus on growing as a denomination

- God loves you and meets you where you are at. Commit to making your spiritual journey your number one priority!
