Worship Artist Josh Baldwin writes, “I see the evidence of Your goodness, all over my life. I see Your promises in fulfillment all over my life.”

Life never seems to be what we expect, but over and over again, I see God’s goodness in my life. In my first year of officership, I’ve seen evidence of God’s goodness while being stationed at the College for Officer Training where every few months we had a Family Sunday on campus where all the children joined the cadets and officers for morning worship.

For one Sunday, we asked three of the cadets’ daughters to prepare a worship dance for the service. With a week and a half to put the dance together, I worked with these sweet girls who were energetic, eager to learn and excited for this opportunity. We spent a few nights learning the steps, understanding the song lyrics and worshiping together. My heart was overjoyed each evening and even more when I watched them leading us in worship through the dance that Sunday.

Investing time in our little ones and encouraging them to try new things is important. Just as we invest in our future officers in training, we also get to invest in their children. I hope those girls also can see what God is doing in their lives and how He is using them. What a blessing they were to me, and how exciting to think this is only year one as an officer.

As you are aware, there comes a time when officers move. Mine came sooner than expected, but many things weren’t expected this year. In late November, I packed up two suitcases and moved to Wausau, Wis., to support my dear friend, Major Barb Logan, and the Wausau Corps. In a season of great loss for the Logan family and this community, I witnessed great love, compassion, support, flexibility, and again God’s faithfulness. I have met new people. I have experienced new things. God has provided new ministry and learning opportunities. May the desire to serve the Lord and worship Him always be evident in my life, in every season. I am confident that wherever God sends me, I’ll continue to see His goodness.
