At the Fort Dodge, Iowa, Corps, we’re never too busy to hear from our people. My husband, Captain Ronald Cook, and I are at the corps most days from 7:00 a.m. until 7:00 p.m., and have prayed and sought diligently to bring more people into our community of worship. Ultimately, I’d say the key is simple: loving people.
Our feeding program serves more than 100 people five days a week. Not only do we visit with them every chance we can, we always invite them to join us once a month on Sundays for lunch and the corps worship service.
The last Friday of each month we hold a karaoke night. Everyone who attends is invited to the Sunday morning meeting. We also offer holiday dinners to the folks who attend our feeding program and invite them to participate in early morning Bible studies. We often have as many as 15 people.
