by Blythe Marinelli Central Territorial Headquarters (THQ) will be moving to a new facility in Hoffman Estates, Ill., northwest of Chicago in the summer of 2015. The move is the result of much prayer, discussion, study and planning. In 2008 discussions began about the possible renovation of the existing THQ campus. It was becoming critical to upgrade the facility for more efficient use, to improve workstation standards and to better communicate and task-share between departments and, thereby, to better serve the field. Several years of thorough analysis conveyed the purchase of a new headquarters facility would represent the best long-term stewardship of funds. When it comes to her sunbeams, Nora Boeck’s highest priority is seeing girls grow in their walk with the Lord. For instance, recently she comforted one of her sunbeams who was struggling with nightmares and encouraged her to pray every night before going to sleep. She shared with her the power prayer has for those who believe. Later her sunbeam shared with me how Miss Nora had taught her to pray and depend on God when she felt afraid. Themed “Teamwork,” the conference boasted an evening a Lambeau Field, home of Wisconsin’s beloved Green Bay Packers. Highlights included a tour of the facility, a run through the tunnel used only by the Packers, great food and autographs. The conference also featured 10 workshops and three plenary sessions.
