NSE: The Glen Eyrie Experience

The Salvation Army’s National Seminar on Evangelism (NSE) is set against the stunning backdrop of the Rocky Mountains at the Glen Eyrie Conference Center, a Christ-focused retreat facility designed to bring people into closer intimacy with God. The NSE guides Salvationists into learning how to intentionally walk across the room, extend a hand of hospitality and words of invitation to the greatest adventure ever known—a life lived with Christ as Savior and Lord.

Each year soldiers and officers come to Glen Eyrie to give time and attention to Jesus Christ’s commission to “go and make disciples of all nations.” The week is dedicated to encouraging and equipping Salvationists through inspiring worship, Bible studies for personal growth and teaching sessions on relational evangelism, as well as small group and real-life opportunities to practice what has been presented.

Glen Eyrie adds to the experience through the beauty of creation, limited distractions and a staff who seek to provide Christ-like hospitality. Morning devotional hikes are arranged for those who wish to explore the area. The garden-like setting is perfect for reflection and prayerful preparation of heart and mind. Add to this time for sharing stories and experiences from delegates around the nation.

Glen Eyrie’s historic castle, spacious meeting, dining and lodging facilities and beautiful grounds create an environment for delegates to slow down and reconnect with God. With historic and cultural significance as the personal estate of General William Palmer, the founder of Colorado Springs, Glen Eyrie has been owned and operated by The Navigators since 1953. Since then it has served as a sanctuary for countless believers to come and find rest away from the break-neck pace of the world.

Glen Eyrie is more than a historical landmark, more than a quiet place to get away, more than a conference center. It is a place where God meets with His people.

NSE is a conference every corps should consider.

Soldiers should see their corps officers.
